Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader
Bio Coming Soon
Mike, his wife Keisha and children, Addi and MJ
Mike has been the Worship Leader at Grace Point Community Church since
February of 2011. He has
played and sang music in many settings, both amateur and professionally, since he was a child. Mike
began attending church at Grace Point in 2008 and quickly became a member of the Praise and Worship
Team. It was in late 2010, at a men’s conference, that Mike received his calling to take on a more serious
role as a Worship Leader/Pastor and has been in that role ever since.
Mike met his beautiful wife, Keisha, while working in Alexander City in
2000 and they were married in
2001. In October of 2004 they gave birth to their daughter, Addi, and their son, MJ, came along in April
of 2006. They currently live in Wetumpka and Keisha teaches 8 th grade Science at Eclectic Middle School.
Mike’s desire is to lead Grace Point Community Church, aided and led by
the Holy Spirit, into a time of
worship that magnifies the holiness of God and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. You will find our
worship music at Grace Point to be largely contemporary, however, we do maintain the worth of the
legacy of scripturally rich hymns and will absolutely incorporate those hymns into the service-
sometimes in a traditional form and sometimes with a more contemporary feel to them.
We feel that anyone, young or old, will be quite comfortable with the
worship service at Grace Point
Community Church and we invite you to join us!
Mike can be contacted at Mike@GracePoint.info
Here at GracePoint children are not thrown in the back of the church to
be “baby sat”. We believe that they are an important member of the church.
We strive to have an environment that will be fun and exciting for our
children. While there is fun we will learn the Word of God and our goal is
that our children will push our adults to know God’s Word better.
The Children’s Ministry serves children from age 3 (by September 2nd) thru 6th grade. Our teachers are screened and go thru a class for the safety of the children and themselves. We have Sunday School classes, Sunday Worship Hour classes and Wednesday Night classes. We also do several special events for times like Christmas, Easter and Summer.
During Sunday School we have 3 different classes group by age. The curriculum is provided by RBP and is a workbook style class.
During our Church hour (a.k.a. B.i.G. Church) classes, we break it up in 3 different classes: Pre-School, K-3rd and 4th-6th. We have a worship time and then have an age appropriate message. We use Generations of Grace curriculum and we go thru the Bible every 3 years.
Wednesday Night is our Olympian program (a Word of Life Ministry) during the school year, where the children will have verse memorization time, game time and a Biblical Message. During the Summer we take a break from our Olympian and have a Children’s Church style class. Where we will have Worship Time, Bible Time and Game Time.
Our Children’s Ministry is headed up by Jason and Cheryl LaVigne, who have been serving together in Children’s Ministry for over 25 years. Met at Youth Group in High School and married in 1994. They have 4 children of their own and love sharing the Good News with all of God’s children. We are always looking for more people to be a part of this important ministry, please let us know if you have any interest to love these children that Jesus said ”Let them come to ME” Matt 19:14
